Welcome / Bienvenue!
… to my web site which is devoted to my eighth great grandmother, Jeanne Marguerite Chevalier, and has been created:
- To tell the story of this remarkable woman amidst the times and places of her life;
- To record her history for my immediate family and for all the descendants of Jeanne and her second husband Robert Levesque;
- To share news about books on Jeanne’s life and the progress of my research;
- To provide lessons for those interested in applying their creative talents in new fields, particularly history; and
- To furnish hints for those embarking on genealogical voyages.
Achieving these goals requires me to weave together the results of much detective work and time spent to date, sleuthing out facts and records and analyzing scholarly writings and interpretations of relevant individuals and historical events. I have also threaded in my own experiences in the journey to uncover her story. Where gaps in the information remain, I have added them to my “to be researched” lists for future trips to libraries and archives in New England, France, and Quebec and for future explorations of the wonders of the Internet. Some gaps may, alas, never be filled in. For those, I will just have to apply some reasoned imagination using my creative talents! Whether the final narrative of Jeanne’s life will qualify as non-fiction or creative non-fiction or perhaps even a new category remains to be determined!
And in case you are wondering, we are very happy to announce that this web site and its blog posts are now all available in French! Just click on the French flag in the top right corner of any page to access the French version. I owe ever so much to my cousin Father Peter Dumont in New Hampshire and his cousin Michel Moisan in Quebec City for all their incredible and invaluable help in making the translation possible! However, I take full and entire responsibility for any errors, either historical or grammatical!
Finally, if by chance you’ve landed on this site because of your curiosity around what happened to Lynne Levesque, consultant and author of Breakthrough Creativity: Achieving Top Performance Using the Eight Creative Talents, The Breakthrough Creativity Profile, and related works, please read on!
